Celebrating 200 Years of Changing the World

Yes. That's right. The ever-acclaimed-no-matter-how-many-protests Pride and Prejudice celebrates 200 years this month on the 28th.

And those 200 years really have changed the world. So many lives touched, whether for pleasure or pain. Comfort or no. The world changed because of Miss Austen's book. It changed with her other 5 novels, too--including my favorite Persuasion. But I believe this book has had the farthest reaching affect on mankind, and certainly womankind! :-)

So we are celebrating. P&P will be this month's Austen Knows Best Book Club discussion. The book and its various movie adaptations. Yes. I know. I've already talked much of these on this blog, and even shared the discussion questions from another book club here. But phoo. We are doing it again. And any true Janeite as I am will heartily agree with me that it can never be enough. Or at least that one can never turn down an excuse to watch P&P adaptations.
